Then, I picked up a book in my son's preschool and was freaked out that it was about two princes that fall in love. He's only 3. I'm not ready for him to be taught this stuff in school. I csnt explain it, but hes 3 and i prefer the traditional prince/princess scenario at this age. It's fine he knows that so and so has 2 daddies or mommies- but for some reason the book weirded me out.

In his preschool?? I would have flipped my shit.

This is where I agree with the OP, that is an agressive agenda for sure.

Is it wrong that I'm thinking of smuggling the book out of the school?

I really don't want to get in a political debate or be called a homophobe.

I don't know how else to explain why gay went from being seemingly quite rare to being 1 out of 10 people, I guess is what they are saying these days. And just about every tv show has at least one gay character. I wonder if people get kind of brainwashed - there is something about a gay tv character that they relate to, so they begin to feel they might be gay too. Ok, I've reached my quota of offensiveness, so I better sign off for now.

Homosexuality has not increased. People are more aware of it and people feel comfortable coming out of the closet due to that. And FYI - someone in the closet is still gay even if they are not "out" about it.

It does not fit the definition of a mental illness. Homosexuals are no different then heterosexuals.

How do you explain those kids that already have the gay lisp and are designing clothes and sashaying around at 10 years old? This shit definitely didn't happen when I was a kid--nor did boys trying to kiss boys on the elementary school playground.

Oh please!

I do not feel the same as OP feels about gays, I'm neutral towards gays...whatever, do what you want. I'm even all for legalizing bigamy.

HOWEVER, I am hetro and like lesbian porn. I also like gang bang porn and hate plain old hetro porn. I like anyting kinky. I have had a chance to be with a woman, a very attractive woman (and she looked like a porn star, tall, thin, huge breasts, exactly the way I like my movies) and when I came down to it, I was physically repulsed. There was no attraction there, none at all.

You really don't make much sense. Think about your friend. What is wrong with him or her? How can this person who has smoething mentally wrong with him/her still be good enough to be your BEST friend?

Maybe OP is gay and just doesn't realize it or won't accept it. I understand that many gay people, especially religious people, hate gays. It is self-hatred because you are what you are taught is wrong and evil. Accept yourself and it will all be okay. Peace to you OP.

Yes, I agree that OP is probably further along the homosexual spectrum than average, and trying very hard to deny it.

And what a tough situation to be in. I don't know about you, but I was not given a choice in my sexuality. I didn't pause in my youthful self-exploration and think "girls or boys?" Nope, it was Kirk Cameron, right off the bat. And lesbian porn does absolutely nothing for me. I'm not bothered by it, but I have ZERO physiological response.

First they came for the Jews and I did not speak out because I was not a Jew.

Then they came for the Communists and I did not speak out because I was not a Communist.

Then they came for the trade unionists and I did not speak out because I was not a trade unionist.

Then they came for me and there was no one left to speak out for me.

OP, thank you for this thread. I have been looking for an excuse to cut down on my time spent on DCUM.

I "get" gay and have no issues with gays having the same rights that straights do. I think it's biology - you're born straight or gay, and that people have a better understanding of that now than they did back then, plus there's greater acceptance that you can live a normal, happy life as an "out" gay person.

To be perfectly honest, I'm a little weirded out by the whole transgender thing. On one level I can accept it (and think it's important for equal rights there too) but on the other hand, I still find it jarring when a very masculine-looking person is living as a woman. It's odd for me.

Oh, it makes a LOT of sense. OP has some issues to deal with.

I find it confusing when people don't come out all the way. For instance a family member lives with her gf, brings her to holidays and everyone knows about her, yet she has never said this is my gf. It's like a secret that everyone knows. It's difficult for me to know how to react to that- do I extend an invite to gf (who is often refered to as a roommate or close friend) for family events? How do I explain her role in the family to my LO's if it has never been expressed to me and no one wants to say it?

I thought the "1 out of 10" figure came from the Kinsey Report, which drew from a sample population that was not representative of the general population, and as such that figure has been discredited.
