You have greater faith in objectivity than I do. Let's hope you are right.

Obama's relatives were related to his father who he barely knew. I'm not sure he had even met those relatives. If those facts were also true in Bush's case, I think the reaction would be similar.

I'm not sure why the fact that Obama has relatives with whom he is not close living in the US illegally in very meager circumstances is considered a scandal. If Obama were interested in offering his relatives special treatment, they would be here legally and working in cushy jobs arranged by Obama supporters.

Someone would really get a bumper sticker about a non-famous person who happens to be related to a politician?

Sounds like a very unhealthy obsession to me.

I see - so if the president graduated from Yale, it's totally OK to call him an idiot. Harvard? Deserving of "eternal contempt."
Given that he most likely got into Yale because he came from a powerful Connecticut family(dad and granddad were Senators) long associated with Yale, I wouldn't assume his Yale degree was a clear sign of intelligence.

Is getting in an Ivy on a racial preference any different. Two of my dearest friends are Princeton grads and they readily acknowledge that they were only accepted on racial preference. Is that so very different than political preference. Neither situation is based upon merit alone.

First, the Teabaggers criticized Obama for being too "Keynesian." Then they (and Gingrich) say he has a "Kenyan" anti-colonial worldview somehow geneticially inherited from his absent father.

Like or loathe the president, it would be a stretch in any case to call him an "idiot."

Indeed and people who do call him an "idiot" earn my eternal contempt.

You do realize both of them went to Harvard, yes?

I see your Bush quotes and I raise you:

These are really pretty lame as gaffes go. Really, he pronounced the "p" in corpsman? OMG! He said "intercontinental" instead of "transcontinental" in an off-the-cuff statement. How revealing.
