Where do you live now and where are you looking to buy? If you want to buy in the Pyle district, that market has already recovered and is strengthening. Maybe the OP is waiting for the market to recovery where he/she lives in order to sell their house for a reasonable price? Not all the markets in DC area (as we know) are as strong as Pyle/Whitman.

Why would I pay more for my child to sit in a math class repeating work finished 2 years ago. At least the child has an opportunity to take a placement test in MCPS and get a better placement fit.

There might be room at our middle school, and it is a reasonably good one. If you are interested, I could send you an email about it. Is there a way on dcurbanmom.com to send a private reply (just to you) that I am not spotting? (all I saw was the general reply button I used to post this). I would be happy to discuss the pros and cons of my child's school with you but I don't want to blast them all over cyberspace.

Why not move to Montgomery County? Pay our taxes, then your child can go to a public school..

My son's preschool (tuition on a PT schedule) is more than my daughter's Catholic school tuition.

I would never pay tuition for any public school, and I'm in a public system.
