I thought the Outback was the NW DC car of choice?

OP, another anti money post? Really? Why are you so bitter?

I would bet those moms could not give a rats ass about you or your ride.

You clearly have never owned a Mercedes Benz.

lol. You don't have to be sucker and buy them to know they're not the car they used to be. Besides, my rich parents drive them, so I don't have to.

Nah - that screams "I have family money and even though I don't talk about it you can figure it out because I'm driving my 3 kids to private school in this $$ hand-me-down on a non-profit salary."

Agree with PP. It looks like a hand me down from mummy. "I send my kids to private school, I feel entitled, Daddy let's us have 2 weeks at the Bethany house, blah, blah, blah, I was born on third base, etc."

Bethany? More like Martha's Vineyard or Nantucket.

Honda Odyssey. So ubiquitous that you don't notice that they're the majority, not some fancy Benz.

The R wagon is smaller. I had an E class wagon and liked it a lot, except for the $1500 bill every time it went in for service. Also, the gas mileage was more like 14-17. I might have gotten 19 or 20 on long trips.

I got rid of it primarily because I could find absolutely no safety information about how we were supposed to use the third row "jump seat." It appeared that you'd need a booster for a kindergartener, but the boosters specifically say that they are not meant to be used in rear-facing jump seats. Now I have an Acura MDX, which is harder to navigate but has a third row that faces forward. I pay $600 every time it goes in for service but the mileage is even worse than the Mercedes.

I see a lot of these around Spring Valley, AU Park, Chevy Chase, Forest Hills. The Chevy Equinox. It's tasteful--"I have money and I like to support American products." A Benz wagon or Beamer wagon--these are very bourgeois cars. I just hate the image that screams look at me! I bought a hunk of european plastic! Plus they're no better than a higher end Chevy.
