No, especially when I see the inane things that young parents do.

I had my first at 25 and think it was a perfect age. DH was 32 at the time and had his career on track. I had been with my employer for 3 yrs and had the benefit of a family friendly environment.

I have 3 kids under 5 and I'm in my 40s. My body is the same shape it was when I was in my early 20s. I think I would be just as tired at 30 as I am now. Kids are hard work no matter what age. As four bouncing back after pregnancy, I've seen mothers of all ages who did and did not bounce back.

Yes, I wish we could have afforded kids younger, which was why we didn't have them when we got married at 22. Had my first at 30.

I'm 39, with a 3-year-old. Maybe a few years, but not too much younger. I had a lot of fun in my 20's and early 30's. My daughter will leave the house when I'm 54 or so; I doubt I'll retire much before 65/70. And i'm very unlikely to be a grandparent before 60, which to me is just about right.

I have seen "not old" people with children and no energy, FWIW OP. I think some people are just lazy, frankly.

Same as PP. I had one at 34 and it was great. We too couldn't have afforded private school if we had DC earlier.

On the other side of the coin, I am now 41 and would really like another child. Just worried that I'm getting too old to do it. Wish I would have started earlier.

No I had one at 34 and that worked for me. We couldn't have afforded private school if we had had a kid in our twenties.

Where are all these 20 something nannies? Certainly not in DC!

I had mine at 28 and 30 and love that I had them that young. I got married when I was 26.

DH were/are financially stable and already owned a home.

I'll be 47 and they'll both be in college and am looking forward to being young empty nesters.

Yes. Then I wouldn't hesitate to try for a third child. At 40, I worry for the baby's health and development. I would like another one, but I am ambivilent about trying.

Yes and no. I had my DC at the age of 42 (almost 43), and though I'm tired some days, we're in a great place financially. I grew up with a single mom, and money being tight, so I knew when and if I had children, I'd have to be financially ready beforehand. My only regret is that I might not be in my DC's life when he's middle aged, and see his children. Makes my heart hurt!!!

My focus is on the present, keeping myself healthy, and my DH healthy. My life is what it is, and I'm grateful that I have my DC, no matter what age I was when I had him. Wishing and the "what ifs" aren't productive and can be downer.

I had no. 1 at 23 and no. 2 at 27...there is still room for no. 3 (maybe soon). And yes I travelled with hubby AND got career that I am satisfied with. I didn't get to do much travelling with friends though, but I guess you can't try it all. I am glad I ended up meeting the RIGHT man, cause I want to be a young mom AND a young grandmother. PLUS my body has bounced back into shape.
