Youre doing it wrong then.

Output needs to be greater than input. Increasing protein in your diet, while decreasing carbs and fats may help, but in the end it is still diet and exercise. Starvation doesnt work. So you need to do more than your exercise 2.5mph on the treadmill going on a decline.

I think this is an irresponsible comment to make as there are plenty of people that simple diet and exercise won't work for. There are other factors that come into play such as health issues, age, pre and post menopause. I think you need to get all your facts before you slam someone who's obviously tried and is asking for help.

I've descided to try the paloe, but am doing a slow transition. Do not like it that they restrict beans. I do not want to become too fanatical, as these diets tend to make you become. Once my other food is finished and eaten then I will start

I'm in a high protein/low carb program at Inova. It incorporates diet/Exercise/nutrition counseling. Hgh protein meal replacement shakes are it for 4 wks. Each shake is 27g protein. EKG and labwork required before starting and if continuing on meal replacements, labwork is required every 4 wks. I've been stupid lazy about exErcise, maybe twice a week, and recently have been bad about what real food I eat, and I've lost 20 lbs in 10 wks. The high protein keeps the hunger at bay and in the very beginning, I would do a cup of veg a day. I'm going to re-enroll for another 12 wks so I can continue to learn some good habits and have the support through the holidays.

The key is ketosis. When your body enters ketosis, it pulls your energy from fat stores. Keeping your calorie intake well below your BMR combined with burning fat stores is a ver effective way to lose weight.

Inova also provides a transition program as well to help you stay on track.

Ideal Protein Diet is great but I am slowly gaining it back. I don't know why but it is really hard for me to get back on it. I have gained about half back after a year. I have tried a number of times to go back on it with the coach but with no luck. It is very expensive and that might be part of my problem. I can't buy all the food from the company all the time. I don't want to live on this diet for the rest of my life just so I don't gain it back. I miss fruits! So if you know how to use normal food to do this diet so I don't have to buy the companies let me know.

ANything that involves restricting your diet this greatly is not healthy. Your body doesn't need all of this protein. A diet that offers quick weight loss is not sustainable.
