Maybe it could be open to Arlington and another district (like Alexandria city or Falls Church city) to increase the potential number of students? In Arlington you wouldn't have the loss to GT centers since that doesn't exist but kids might drop out for other reasons, and it doesn't seem likely that older students would have the Chinese background to enroll.

MCPS opened a second one due to popularity a few years ago. They are very popular magnets. It is hard to find teachers and also the number of kids dwindles as kids move/ go to GT centers/drop out for other reasons. It is difficult to find kids to enter later since they need to test in Chinese. The 4th and 5th grade classes are combined. Good luck
