I specifically asked if there was a valentines celebration in class or for the class last week so we could prepare as necessary and was told they didnt do anything in this age group - 18 mo -2's....So we made valentines for the neighborhood kids and passed those out and went to school this morning empty handed. As soon as we got there I saw a mom giving one of the teachers a valentine present. Oops. I hate it when I ask all the right questions and STILL get it wrong!lol
That's hard, I'm sure! I had a parent ask and we said we weren't doing anything, really, (except the children made valentines for their parents) and in the last few years other parents hadn't done valentines so I thought it was safe to say they didn't do valentines for each other. THEN one parent did bring something in for all the children, but that parent hadn't asked! And others didn't ask and didn't bring.... we don't have a huge tradition of doing anything on Valentine's day, but some parents like to do these things, others don't, so it really isn't a big deal if some do and some don't give valentines. But it's hard to issue blanket statements unless we make a 'rule' and we seem to always have rules so we hate to invent even more 'rules', lol!
