We did SG DE program. Got pregnant on the first try. We also did IVF using own eggs at GWU MFA. As compared to GWU, SG experience was much better. SG staff were much more informed and courteous.

OP here, thanks 21:33. I know it is going to be more expensive, but the problem is I like my RE so am not really looking to switch to chady grove at thi spoint and GIVF's donor pool is very limited.

I was able to get a temporary password for Shady Grove when I was deciding between clinics - I wasn't a Shady Grove patient.

You can look on GIVF and Dominion websites for their donors. At Shady Grove you have to be a patient and they give you a temporary password to look for a few days and will expire, they will give you a longer duration password once you've done all the pre-tests and are ready to pick a donor.

You can register and request an account at both ORM and SDFC and look at their donor pools. SDFC password will expire but you can renew it very easily. I would love to go to SDFC because it is nice weather there especially this time of year. It sounds like it is still winter in Oregon with the snow!

I will also add that if you are looking to cycle with a local clinic that has an in-house pool of donors, you're pretty much looking at Shady Grove or GIVF.

If you use an ageny donor, you pay an agency fee to help with coordinating the donor's monitoring and traveling. This is the most expensive because you pay agency fee, donor compensation and donor meds, as well as any traveling costs if donor lives far from your clinic.

If you decide on a clinic and choose a donor from your clinic pool, your clinic will coordinate your donor's monitoring and you don't have to pay agency fee. You will pay donor compensation and donor meds. Sometimes the clinic donor may live far and you may also need to pay for their traveling costs. You will know all this when you make your donor choice.

Would you help me out here please? What if I am being monitored at a clinic in DC but choose to use an out of state agency to select a donor? I mean if I find the donor pool of a certain aganecy say in Boston is a good match, should I then move to boston for a couple of months for monitoring? How does this thing work?

I think I will be using Dominion for local monitoring. ORM does not have shared risk or shared donors but they have a program called "Our Promise" that will give you some type of refund if you don't take home a baby.

See if GW will do your monitoring. They are the nicest practice I've worked with. Perhaps less ego than other area practices as well, they really want to help, so maybe they'll agree.

I had done 3 OE IVF with one m/c and 2 fresh DE with a chemical and a FET. Nothing to show for it so I got my shared risk $ back and going to ORM which has success rate in the 70-79% vs SG in the 50%. That is more than 20% better chance to take home a baby or two for us. I consulted with Dr. Hesla and joined the PVED group where a lot of people go to ORM or SDFC. I am in Loudoun county and trying to see if I could use VCRM or an OB office for my monitoring.

You will need to go out to ORM twice, once to do the mock transfer and doppler where they check for blood flow in your uterus which I think is very good. If you don't have good blood flow they will recommend accupuncture to improve bloodflow to your uterus.

20:07 again. We just started the process, so I don't have any info for you. In fact we have our first consult w our ORM doc in a couple of weeks. I will ask them which clinics they will allow me to use for monitoring and I will post their response here.

May I ask why you don't want to use SG again? I was considering them, but it's good to know if others had a bad experience. SG was not my clinic for OE IVF but they are conveniently located so that's a plus.
