Never. I wear sneakers to work (boots, with a flat heel when it's cold, sometimes sandals when it's warm).

I rarely have occasion to dress up enough to be concerned about whether flats are not dressy enough. If they aren't, then I'm probably not likely to want to be there anyway.

I wear them most days at work (though usually commute in flats) and sometimes if we're out on the weekends but that usually means high heeled boots, wedges or sandals, not pumps.

I wear heels to work most everyday. I dont like 4 or 5 inch heels usally 3 to 4 inch at the most.I have never had had problems with my feet in heels I guess because I have found the brands that fit well.My husband complained a few years ago that I never wear heels on the weekends for him. I love to wear high heel slides and mules,so I wear them for him when Im not at work.

i agree with this and i am also not fat old or frumpy. whenever i see people in high heels out and about (not at work), it looks like they are trying too hard. also, most women i see look very uncomfortable trying to walk their heels. it's another story if you really can pull it off gracefully.

i save heels for special occasions and work or work related events.. otherwise i'm in flats or flat boots.

There's a mom I have seen at Fairlington park a couple of times who wears skimpy dresses and 4-inchers. She looks hot, but it's just weird.

I wear heels almost every day at work, and if I am going out in the evening. I do not, however, commute in my heels. I wear flats for commuting, going to the park, playing with my kids, running errands on the weekends, etc. I am psyched by the sheer number of really cute flats that are on the market these days. My flats collection has surpassed my heels collection. I feel sexier/prettier and more dressed up in heels, but after having kids, comfort and conveniece have become very important. Plus, I would feel like a freak walking around the park in heels - do people even do that?

I probably wear heels 1-2x/week. But they are only 2.5 inches, and they have to have good arch support.

I wear heels most days at work and if going out on weekend. I'm short so I like the height boost and the way heels look. I try to be careful about my feet and don't have any problems apparent yet (mid 40s and been doing this for 20 years now). I do make sure that I always wear good shoes that fit well and have good padding. No cheap flimsy heels. Most of my heels are in the 3-4 inch range, although that obviously varies from shoe to shoe. I'm sure someday I will have to give up my heels but I hope not for a while.


This is me, but I'm not 40 just yet. I don't feel fully dressed (for professional or social engagements) without heels.

I am under 5' and used to wear them EVERY DAY. The only flats I owned were one pair of tennis shoes and a couple pairs of flip flops. I am a teacher, it helped me feel a little taller than my students. Then I got pregnant and couldn't wear heels comfortably. Almost four years later I own way more flats than heels and only wear heels maybe once a month. I don't think I've even bought a new pair of heels in the last four years, seriously. Once I went to flats, I never went back - so comfy .
