My best friend growing up met her new spouse at work. Total disaster. I know her well, and she is not happy at all, nor is the new husband. I feel so bad for the two families that were so badly torn to shreds. But it is not like there is a time machine or a way to patch things up now, it's too late. Over nothing, it was a physical attraction gone awry. She wishes she could have just been an adult about it instead of what she describes as being a "teenager" about it, especially in her poor judgment. She thought she was getting the better end of the deal, boy was she wrong. Both have children involved. Now it is a total mess and everyone involved is alone, because nothing can be undone. So sad to see her going through this after knowing her and her family for so long. The kids are a mess.

We never would have gotten together if we'd met at work. DH is a boys' boy and goofs around way too much on the job for my style. And it goes without saying he would think I was an uptight you know what if he'd seen me at work. Meeting in a bar was much more conducive ~

DH and I are both feds and met at work. We were friends for years, but didn't start dating until after I'd left that office for another component of the same agency. He later transferred, and we now work in the same office again and commute in together every day. There are at least three other married couples in my office, so it's not like we're the only ones.

My husband may have met his future spouse at work. Wish I was kidding. No physical affair but a lot of damage to our marriage (which I realize was already damaged for him to fall for someone else).

Met mine at another location while i was on travel. Dated long distance for 2 years then he transfered to my location. HATED IT. we've both since moved on, but we're still quite married!

My sister met her husband at work. They stayed at the same architecture firm until they moved in together, then she left for another firm so that they weren't together quite so much!

We worked in the same building (NIH main campus). My friend was dating his best friend. His best friend and my girlfriend broke up but we continued to date. We were together for 5 years before we married in 2002. We've been married for 10 years. We have lunch together/ride to work together.
On the other hand, my husband's best friend married someone who worked in the same office. It was all good...until the divorce. It got pretty ugly.
I would recommend dating someone in a different department..but not in the same office.

yes, lawyers at same firm but we never worked together. Then switched firms once we were engaged.

One of the cutest couples I know met at work. She since left and changed careers and he's still there in upper management. I tend to be against it, but they changed my mind
