No it's not. Ours is $100,000. It's supposed to cover at least 8 months of expenses.

Ally's 5 year CDs have the best rates right now, and you can break them with only a 60 day interest penalty. I'd also look at throwing 10 or 20k into Ibonds. You can't touch it for 12 months, but it's guaranteed to keep up with inflation.
