Also the MR pool offers swim lessons to the public and has August memberships that open to waitlisted members so not a lost cause. Not to mention there are 2 other indoor pools and 1 outdoor pool in a 5 minute driving distance( Turkey Thicket and Rolling Crest-indoor), and Hamilton pool and Splash pad-outdoor. It is an excellent location. Also, a lot has changed since 2012. We’ve been living here since then and we’ve never had any safety problems. Our kids walk to friends’ houses, ride bikes to multiple awesome parks and generally get to enjoy a suburb like life while still getting some city skills.

I was hoping the pandemic would move me up the list but so far I'm still well past 1000.

Join the Greenbelt pool. It's an extra 10 minutes in the car, and a nicer indoor/outdoor experience.

+1 for the Greenbelt pool! Just annoying (but understandable) that they are only open to Greenbelt residents on the weekends in the summer.

False! If you buy an annual pass - you can also use it whenever it is open, just like Greenbelt residents. It's open to Greenbelt residents AND annual passholders on weekends. We live in DC and have an annual pass and go every weekend - during non-COVID times throughout the entire year (their infant and toddler swim classes are fantastic).

OMG THIS IS AMAZING INFO THANK YOU

lol I didn't even think of trying to find another pool

Wow! Hopefully OP did move there and is now sitting on a ton of equity. MR is just as safe, if not safer, than Brookland.
