I live nearby and I really like this neighborhood. However, the 15-minute walk to the Bethesda Metro reported would definitely be along the trail, which is gravelly there and far from ideal for walking to/from work - you would need appropriate shoes. BUT, the Chevy Chase Land Company just started a free shuttle for the neighborhood to the Bethesda Metro from 8401 Connecticut Avenue - they're trying to curry neighborhood favor so they won't have so many NIMBY problems with the development they're planning around the Chevy Chase Lake station on the purple line.

I don't understand this post. This house is as close to Wisconsin Ave (where bethesda metro is) as Connecticut Ave. You walk up Lynn and then Elm St and you are by the elevator to bethesda - where they will build the south entrance if the purple line is ever built. So definitely within 15 minutes walk even without the trail.

Ooops, my bad - I saw Lynn St and read it as Lynnwood Place which is in the neighborhood behind the Starbucks on Connecticut Ave. Carry on!
