Italian store is SO good!

We too are fans of NY style. Potomac Pizza fits the bill for us - not super pizza by any means, but hits the nexus between parents and kids tastes (plus is cheap, easy to get to, and delivers) - we order pizza at least once a week so those factors are important. For eat in, we also like Red Tomato in Bethesda.

Albertos for Chicago style

I think preferences are determined by where you grew up. I'm not a huge fan of New England style pizza. I live a block from Pete's, and I think it's just fine (although my daughter loves it). (I refuse to even to discuss the crap they incorrectly call pizza in Chicago.) I'm a fan of New York style pizza, and the best - by far - I've found around here is The Italian Store in Arlington. Not DC proper, but pretty close, depending on where you are.

In Bethesda my kids' favorite is Pizza Tempo, followed by Corner Slice. Adults like Vace, Naked Pizza (if you want a whole-wheaty crust), and Mias (but Mias is pricey).

My oldest has faked not feeling well at a birthday party turning down the pizza and cupcake - only to say as we are leaving and a block from Pete's - can we go get a slice. [note - he is only 5 - we are in trouble]

Love Pete's, as do my kids when we are there. Ditto for Vace, Two Amy's, and Mamma Lucia's and Mia's in Bethesda. But honestly my kids request Domino's (pizza and cheesy bread) every time I say I am picking up a pizza ...

another vote for Mama Lucia (plenty of locations in MD suburbs) I live in DC and drive to the MD suburbs for it. I also LOVE Vace, yummy. Interested in trying the Pizza Company where you bake at home. I grew up in Philadelphia and there was a place called Mom's Pizza (I think) and you cooked it at home. I remember it being delish!
