Jim Vance is the ONLY reason to watch local news.

Now. Why are all the Prince Albert piercing pix of fat men? What is the link between chub and piercing your schlong?

God some of you are a bunch of precious flowers. Why would an earring distract from anything? Why do some folks put such emphasis on things like this when people do an otherwise great job at their profession? This is not the Victorian age people! Get a grip!

Jim Vance is by far the best news anchor. Ever. By far. He is smart, easy to listen to, hilarious (which I love) . . . he and Doreen Gentzler are a great team. And, when George Michael was there, the chemistry between the three of them was unbeatable.

Leave him alone.

If you want to pick on someone, go for Barbara Harrison. I agree, she is horrific.

I absolutely love Jim Vance. I love not knowing what the deal is with the earring, and I love that he just doesn't care about looking like a cookie cutter news anchor. He is the honey badger of the local news.

Also agree that it will never be quite the same without George Michael- those two were so well suited to each other.

Barbara Harrison is painfully bad. I have no idea why she is still on, but am glad she's at least not on the mornings anymore. I love Jim Vance, although I agree about the earring being distracting, but he is just such a bad ass. I love when you can tell he thinks a story is ridiculous and starts ad libbing and laughing.

Totally agree about Barbara harrison. She always messed up her lines.

Vance used to run around with a much younger lady friend. Maybe the earring makes him feel younger.

Yes, I think Kim Martucci is the weekend weather person for NBC 4. She was on last weekend, and my husband commented that they must have brought in the D team for New Years weekend...

And the crazy haired woman in the morning, I think you are referring to Megan McGrath. Not the best either.

I personally love the morning NBC news crew -- Eun Yang, Joe Krebs, etc. Once they moved Barbara Harrison to midday, I was so much happier!

He has had it for a lot longer than that. I will never forget the night George Michael started giving him a hard time about it, they must have gone on for 5 minutes about it.

Wait a minute, I thought he got it right after the 60 Minutes guy Ed Bradley died -- Bradley was his mentor and close friend and it's a tribute to him. Google him and you'll see he's got the same earring.

Darcy Spencer's eyes are two different colors. One is at least partially blue, I think. So that's what you're noticing.

He has had it since the early 80's some have said he wears it to remind him not to smoke crack anymore or to remind him of the dark places he has been.

He is by far and away the best anchor local or national. His editorials are awesome and when he and George Michael were on the same set you never knew what you were going to get.

I feel a piece of him died when George did but have so much respect for the guy who has gone through what he has been through and never once used it as an excuse.

He is also an awesome tennis player.
