Try 2 preteens (one who had cancer at age 7) and an autistic 7 YO. I think after experiencing some challenges in your life, you'll come to understand what is truly important in your life.
That said, I have a housecleaner that comes once every 2 weeks and I LOVE it when SHE makes the beds.

I could lie and say I do those things for DH, as an example to our kids or a courtesy to guests, but, quite honestly, I do it for myself. I love to cook and our kitchen is really a lovely space to hang out in even when I'm not cooking. It's sunny with great views, so I want it to look and feel nice for me whether I'm cooking, reading the paper or working. Ditto the bed; when I go up to my room at night, I love to settle into a comfortably made bed with clean, crisp and pretty linens. There's nothing nicer than slipping under a cozy quilt to watch a movie or read a book . . . . well, maybe one thing nicer.![]()
