Don't let anyone rob you of your joy. And, please, whatever you do, don't just give it away.

Enjoy the holiday season and your new pregnancy. Wishing you the best!

When I saw what song you linked to on YouTube I LOLed. I like you.

I say this as someone for whom it took a number of years to have a second child: your sister needs to get over it. Is this your first? If so, even more reason why you should NOT be trying to hide it. You have done nothing wrong--why act like you have? Please don't spend your life diminishing yourself and walking on eggshells; there are ways to be honest without being hurtful. And congratulations!

I agree with those who said you should tell her before you see her. Seeing you visibly pregnant for the first time at a holiday gathering (or spending the whole day guessing whether or not you are) is much more likely to make her upset and jealous than knowing ahead of time that you're pregnant and being able to accept it before she sees you. I would send her an email ASAP so that she'll have time to process it before she sees you. Even if she doesn't congratulate you or react in an appropriate way, I would try to take the high road and ignore it.

Your sister sounds nuts. Do what feels right to you. Frankly, I'd probably stop dealing with her at the holidays. I haven't spoken to my sister in 4 yrs because I got tired of her level of crazy...but I guess not dealing with difficult people is my MO.

True -- and frankly, I'd be pissed if I was your sister and you were hiding it from me. Take the higher road, give her the decency of respect and let her know before-hand. How she reacts from there isn't your problem.
