Good place to vent. Just need to give more info when posting a situation. Easy to get the wrong idea when you post 2-3 lines of "good riddance" with no mention of how you got there.

Agreed that some people are quick to jab when they should be asking questions. Concentrate on the supportive people & you will find plenty of them.

Too bad, you guys sound perfect for each other. Both completely dramatic and awful.

Some people who are drama queens are really mentally ill. Suicide is generally the action of a mentally ill person. Being the best friend of someone who is so needy or perhaps having serious mental problems is extremely draining. Being medical, we know a number of persons whose children have serious mental illness -- you have never seen such exhausted and discouraged people as these parents -- and they can't just end their relationships with their children, now adult. Perhaps OP has been involved with a needy mentally ill person (sure sounds like it to me) Yes OP seems cold, but there is a time to cut things off to save your own well being. It happens.

I'm with PP. I clearly do not know the "friend", but social leeches are exhausting, to say the least. Do what you need to do for yourself OP. No one is going to pick up your pieces, and grown adults should NOT be expecting you to pick up theirs! You would be surprised at what I have seen, some people should be embarrassed for themselves.
