With the landlord's permission, I painted my apartment because the color was so horrible and didn't match any of my furniture. I didn't mind paying for it because the rent was very reasonable. If you can afford, I would say yes, definately paint.

Paint. Paint and primer in one is a bit better coverage---I used Olympic from lowes. We've painted almost all of the apt including the kitchen cabinets...

I wonder if you're in our old rental. Is the trim, etc. sea foam green as well? We always thought it was surplus paint from the Pentagon or some other institution.

Seek landlord's permission first or you may end up paying twice for painting.

A huge space will probably cost you $500 in paint alone. Is that an outlay you're willing to make?


what kind of paint do you use?? I use benjamin moore and have never spent $500 on paint. even at 4 gallons $60/gallon for the really expensive stuff is still a LOT less than $500.

only if i didn't have to pait it back before moving.
So if the landlord agree in writing to the color then go for it. I think having a space you like is worth the energy of painting.
