What's up with the "chicken" in this soup? Looks weird.

Are you for real? How can someone live in the DC area and never have heard of pho?

Maybe I am missing something but when I go to that site its just a blog and then there are also some dry seasoning mixes that you can use for soup for sale. Is that the right site?

It's actually www.thesoupergirl.com ... don't forget to type in the "the". As for its quality and taste, it's scrumptious and healthy. The Mulligatawny is to die for. Give it a try. If you can't get to her shop, order and then pick up at one of the many pick up points. So good.

I will agree that Toki Underground is wonderful too.

ok, that makes more sense I couldn't figure out all the raves for powdered soup seasonings but who knows!

Pick up points are all over the city. And her shop is in Takoma Park. Check the website.

Pho is a delicious, healthy, satisfying and incredibly CHEAP food choice. You should try it. Over-priced, bland squash soup from Souper Girl in Takoma Park makes me sad.

I second this! In fact, after eating there, we purchased a gift certificate for my son's preschool teacher.

Meh. Looks bland as vanilla shit.

So you've never had it? Thanks for adding nothing to the conversation.

I added the pho. You're welcome.

You can get good pho in DC, too - Pho 14 in COlumbia Heights, and there's another place, also in Columbia Heights, that Tom Seitsma loves (forget the name).

Also, if you are in Georgetown, try the french onion soup at Bistro Francais. Yum.

Pho! Yum. I also like the dumpling/noodle soup from Chinatown Express.

I just got Italian wedding soup from A. Litteri, the Italian Grocer in the FL Ave Market. It was delish.

Pasta Fagiole and other hearty bean/vegetable soups are pretty easy to make if you buy boxes of chicken stock. A little bacon adds lots of flavor. Rsearch some recipes and stock up (no pun intended) your freezer before baby arrives.
