THANK YOU for this thread. I HATE this commercial but for different reasons (I can't stand the whole I just left West Africa--one of the best places for coffee--but all I have been thinking about is sh*tty Folgers coffee) But I this angle, yup, I embrace that too...

I'm firmly in the super-pervy camp. The first time I saw that commercial I was like, WTF??? Glad to see I'm not alone! LOL

We are not the PREVS. Folgers is indeed a PREV, however, and are using PREVVY ways to get more bang for their buck.

I do think it will backfire b/c most people hate PREVS.

Whenever I see that commercial, I wonder if it's supposed to be her boyfriend, not brother?

PLus, folgers is getting a ton of hits from this! I'm sure they didn't mean for it to come across as pervy, but it's also amazing that nobody in their shop said "hm, this seems a bit creepy to me."

I think we believe brothers and sisters can hug and like / love one another all they want. But we also recognized a lust-filled look of longing, too! LOL. Plus a crotch grab.

BTW- Flowers in the Attic was the first adult book I ever read. My mom was absorbed in it and I had just begun to read long, chapter books. As soon as she had put it on the shelf I snuck it to my room. It boggled my 8 year old mind. I reread parts of it for years. Yick! Then there was the follow up movie. Oh boy.

I thought I was the only one and seriously considered that my mind must really be twisted to think such a thing! In fact, I was just thinking about this earlier today -- phew, I am glad to hear that most people agree with me. I would never have thought to look for it online!

I'm also weirded out by this commercial and cant figure out why Folgers hasnt dumped it.
