I feel like for me, the better question is 'where would you live' - its a shorter list.

For the 'not' list:

Philadelphia
Bad winter cities (Boston, Chicago, etc)

DH: Atlanta

Los Angeles

I have thought about this topic for years, and for us, the only city we are left with is Raleigh after DC. I could probably live in others physically, but there aren't any jobs for us in many of the other metro areas.

Anywhere north or west of here where they get significant snow.

Anywhere on the west coast.

Anywhere in a state bordering Mexico or the Gulf thereof.

Anywhere in South Carolina.

haha. We came within months of relocating to Austin, but the only acceptable jobs open there are in the computer industry, and my husband is NOT a computer guy. He thinks he could be if he had to be - I know he'd be miserable.

Austin is pretty nice, actually, but you're right, it is surrounded by TX - the state that gave us Dubya...and now Perry. Not to mention their state school board that is just miserable. I was ONLY willing to go there because his family is in TX and mine was willing to relocate with us. Otherwise, I have no use for the state.

New York, LA, Chicago. DH would never move to Boston, so cross that one off too.
