None of these (except for Kingsbury) are listed for OSSE private placement. Here's the list:

Another Diener parent who completely agrees with 11:01 . We love the school too and it works for our dc. All of these schools are wonderful and you will know which is the right fit when you visit. Good luck.

OP. You really need to just go and see the schools to know. I have a child at Diener and behavior support is at the core of their program but you need to buy in to the philosophy and structure. Diener also incorporates a multisensory learning approach. Auburn was as I understand it designed for Aspergers types but may work well for you. Newton is I believe centered around movement breaks and Keeping the whole body engaged. Go visit and you will Have a better sense of what works best for y

I have been very interested in McLean, too until I heard that McLean is kind of loose on structural/behavioral support and that they don't take kids that are on the very active end of the ADHD. Anyone know if this is anywhere close to the truth? I feel like my info was friend-of-a-friend-who-heard-it-somewhere.

What about McLean? They claim not to take kids on the spectrum but I believe they take kids with ADHD...?

To Auburn PP (or anyone who knows): I have heard from a couple of people that Auburn focuses on spectrum-y kids. I'm not sure exactly who they serve. Do all/most of the have some type of LD?

And: Kingsbury, anyone? My son does not have any learning issues, and I get the sense that Kingsbury might be for kids who are struggling academically and/or have some LD and communication issues.

At the moment the silver spring auburn has around 24 children total ( but still growing !). I believe there are 5 girls and 19 boys. They currently have 3 classes but since they are growing they are planning to add a 4 th class sometime soon.

Thank you, 19:33. I just can't seem to wrap my head around him being in transit more than an hour and a half a day to Newton, but it sounds like a great program. If we were near there I would seriously look into it. I will add Auburn to my check-it-out list. Thanks!

PP Auburn poster here . My son has attention, learning and sensory processing issues. He has been at Auburn since September and it has been WONDERFUL. The staff really "get it" and know what it takes to educate the children. My DS is so happy and because he is happy he is much more available to learn. Please let me know if you have any other questions.
*looked at newton too- it was great just too far for us.

Newton looks fantastic--I know it's far but worth considering. The children are in the gym several times a day and doing all kinds of cool therapeutic things as well as academics. They have a Saturday gym you could try and talk to the director. Very nice school facility and gym and they take kids with ADHD. I just learned about it recently and was very impressed.
