I hope no one is ever mean to her. (Too late. She's in preschool.)
I hope she has a special talent that brings joy to her and others.
I hope she still loves us when she's a teenager.

My grandmother, when asked "how are your children" always answered "no one's in jail and no one's on welfare!"

For my DD, 4 months:

Health
Passion - for life, learning, and pursuing what's important to her
Loving friends, family, and partnership.

If I could sneak in a fourth it would be a fast metabolism.

Health, a successful career that she loves with the respect of her peers, a life full of love.

2. a calling (whether it's his career or an outside interest)
3. love

I hope that she is less analytical than I am. I overthink and worry too much sometimes, and it isn't the key to happiness.

And on a lighter note, I hope she somehow gets bigger boobs from some side of the family. I'd kill for "normal" sized boobs, but not enough to get surgery.

That made me laugh! I wanted to write on mine "more hair for my son" but thought it would be too vain.

Aside from the most important things (health, happiness)
For my 2 year old
1. Potty training. (Maybe that's more for me...)
2. Patience (he got my temperment )

For my 5 year old
1. Learn to read
2. Less "sensative" to change

I wish for my kids to have abundant health, happiness, and to have kindness and empathy for others.

1. Good health (obviously)

2. Love (for themselves, for others, from others)

3. Faith (in themselves, in the world, in a higher power if they choose so)

Oh, and a lifetime of delicious food and travel!

1. To be kind and thoughtful.
2. To find joy in serving others in the community.
3. To be responsible and self-sufficient.

I don't want "happiness" for my kids, as an end-goal in and of itself. I want joy for them - happiness is fleeting while joy is a by-product of living fully as a loving human being.

I want them to be healthy
I want them to find wonderful spouses that will support them through life. (I mean emotional support)
I want them to not be afraid
