Yes exactly. Always take them for Ethiopian food, as long as they like to try new things and like spicy food.

Try as I might, Ethiopian food makes me gag. The injera bread tastes like an old kitchen sponge to me. I think this is the only cuisine I've ever had that I just can't get myself to like.

Ditto. I am quite a foodie otherwise, but just not when it comes to Ethiopian.

I'm glad I'm not alone.

This is quite a community we have. I thought I was the only one.

Agree on the Ethiopian, though that can also be fun with kids too.

Frankly my parents always want to go to Cactus Cantina when they're here. They're from upstate NY so that's "authentic" Hispano food for them. :-b

^^^

This is how I feel too. But I keep recommending it to others, as it's veg-friendly, there's a lot of it in DC, you can't get it elsewhere, and people seem to love it.
Then I find an excuse not to go, grab something quick near the office, and I meet up with them later.
