We wanted a large family, but frankly did not want our older children to hate us for putting them in a caretaking role at a young age - it simply is not fair to the children. You can say tha they bond, blah, blah, blah - but I know there is resentment in most cases.

That said, who am I to judge. They are not living off the system (you and me), that is all that matters.

Heck, if a TV channel is giving them money, it's maybe a financial calculation as much as anything else. That said, there's something wrong when a TV channel pays people to make bad decisions, any bad decisions, and with the rubber-neckers who watch it too.

TLC (is that the channel? I don't watch them) is paying them to do this, and probably underwriting some or all of those preemie costs. That's as big a problem, IMO.

Joy-Anna, age 14, has always been the family tomboy, but lately she is doing less bike-riding and more domestic things. She looks pretty pissed off in the Today Show video, actually (and who can blame her?).

I think the littlest ones think that the oldest DDs are their mothers.

1. I feel that people should use sound medical and socially responsible judgement, not emotions, when they have 1 or 2 kids already.
2. Yes. Especially here, because in this country we use more resources per person than any third-worlder.
