Use an electric toothbrush or any other...ahem...massaging device. The vibration helps break it up and dislodge it. Shower, heat, toothbrush, pump or nurse. Works every time

It sounds weird, but use a comb on the clogged duct while you pump. It gives you extra leverage when your hands get too tired to compress the breast.

Good luck! Those things are so painful. I can't believe you've been able to tolerate it this long.

+1

Dangle nursing saved my boobs! Sunflower lecithin helps to keep things flowing. Keep massaging too. I'm so sorry this is happening, clogs can be really painful. I hope you get relief soon.

I initially read this as "aim baby's nose towards the dog," and thought "but what if you don't have a dog?" I think I need an eye exam.

+1 for lecithin if this occurs a lot. you can get it at whole foods, it's a component of soy, is in a lot of foods (it keeps things from clumping/clogging, so is used as a 'stabilizer,' i gather).

I hope you got it out. I've tried all of these and I'm still stuck with one and it's been a while maybe 2 weeks at the least. ? and unfortunately we don't have the money for the antibiotics.

I also took lecithin for recurrent clogged ducts and it seemed to help.

I got rid of mine by pumping like crazy with a hospital grade pump and leaning over in doggy position while doing it. The gravity and force eventually got the clog out.
