Just FYI, most of the "collection" agencies who call relatives are scammers. I had an experience with debt collectors calling my own dad and my in-laws about an old debt allegedly owed to sprint wireless for 5K. I never had a sprint phone, it was not my debt. Total scam. They think you'll be embarrassed into paying without asking too many questions. So go easy on your ex...it might not be a real thing.
We used to get harrassing calls for my BIL, reported them to the FTC. There's a form on their website.
