In my neighborhood, I saw many of my neighbors carrying a drink. No one is driving and people are drinking one, mabye two beers.

Alcohol offered around in Battery Park, Bethesda, as well. I never drink alcohol but it didn't bother me, as everyone seemed dead sober.

If you were starting drinking games like take a swig everytime someone yells, "Trick or Treat" then I'd be worried. We saw parents drinking too when we were trick or treating in Alexandria, but no one seemed drunk.

Op are you serious? We had margaritas in our red cups, no one was drunk, no one was driving so what was the problem? Oh yeah, and one of our friends with us is a cop who was also drinking. Are you Mormon?

In our N Arlington neighborhood, we all enjoyed drinks while the kids trick or treated on the street. It's been our street's tradition for years.

You must be our neighbor. We had red cups of beer which we kept in hand after getting together at one neighbor's house for snacks and pictures. I had two beers the entire night.

Last night was the first time we have taken DS trick-or-treating. Almost every parent we passed had "to go" cups. We were very envious and realized we had a lot to learn for next year. I did not see anyone drunk, however, just having fun!

we always trick or treat with a large group of neighbors and a wagon of beer. No one drinks more than 2 or gets wasted.

I carried a beer around last night and was laughing about mild that was compared to the halloweens of my 20s, when we'd go to huge parties and get wasted.

As long as they're walking and not driving, it's fine. If they're driving their kids around, then yeah, it would be wrong. But otherwise, I agree...you need to get off your high horse.
