My spouse pretty regularly spots posts that are mine.

I recognized a poster from my neighborhood based on her writing style because she often posts on our neighborhood list serv.

I'm pretty sure some posters recognize me when I've mentioned where we moved from or my ethnicity or cultural heritage. Also places I've traveled with DC.

I think you're safe. Please keep the travel and other good info coming. Even if I recognized you because of your African safari with 5 kids and a MIL doesn't out you on all the other threads (unless you complain about how miserable your MIL is by using examples of recent travels to an African safari).

That speaks more to you not using your time wisely than anything else.

I posted fishing for information on a man I was interested in because I heard his ex posts here. I wanted to know why she left him. She didn't bite.

There is a reason that I nearly always change identifying details in nearly every post. I have posted about my mother, but she can barely get on the internet (and isn't local), so I'm not too concerned.

I posted something about my mom on a thread. And then stupidly sent her the link to DCUM to read up on another topic.

She spent three hours reading DCUM, including a thread with reference to someone who sounded remarkably like herself.

Good times, good times. . .

I have another friend who I know posts on here. A couple of times I've thought about soliciting advice on how to deal with her (she's a difficult friend) but I'm afraid she'd recognize herself in the post and I'm not really looking for that confrontation. (and wouldn't want to hurt feelings, either.)

I am your co-worker and friend. I happen to love your unique story and recognizable style of writing. Reminds me to reach out to you and see how things are going with you and and A.

I've recognized people on here and several times have confirmed it with the poster in real life.

I've also been recognized but later denied it when confronted.

I'm from another state so it has happened to me.

I'm still a Paranoid Patty so I changed personal details.
