Google ARSENIC and dermatofibroma - they are closely linked and may be an indicator of possible future breast cancer. The dermatofibromas are wart-like things that serve as a reservoir for arsenic - the body's way of isolating it perhaps. We have an arsenic pressure treated deck that I'm barefooted on (for nearly 20 years now) and I have 2 of these on my legs, so am looking up how to detox arsenic. So far, no known breast cancer.....

I've had 2 removed, one on the exterior ankle bone and the other on my exterior wrist bone. I would bang them on everything and it was sooo painful. Both came back. The one on my wrist quite a nit uglier and more painful. It was removed in Aug and still hasn't healed fully. I am going to be making another appt with a surgeon this time rather than my family doctor to have it removed again.I think she may not have went deep enough but to be fair right on the bone seems quite hard to do.

I have had mine going on 5 years. It's mid way between my ankle and knee on my shin. I hate to sound vain but it looks ugly. It started off as a bug bite like but one day I went over it with the razor and it has looked like this since. Dark spot with white in the middle. It may have increased in size slightly. I recently got it looked at by a dermatologist who have also said the same as the other doctors. I so want it removed but worry it may come back or the scar is worse. Though I am interested in trying the home remedies and maybe even the apple cider one first. I also a YouTube video on how to cover it with makeup etc., which is a good alternative too.

Old post - I know.... I just had one removed yesterday from my lower leg by my dermatologist. It was so ugly and I always shaved over it, which made it even uglier and painful! I have 6 internal and 6 external stitches. Hoping for a minimal scar, but even a scar would look better than that thing! Happy I had it done, it's been getting bigger and bigger for months.

I have had one for many years. Got it removed about 6 years ago but it grew back almost immediately and it left quite a wide scar. I really want it removed again as it is on my forearm and so really noticeable. I'm always bothering it and I just want it gone.

I have something like this on the outside palm of my hand. I'm thinking of having a plastic surgeon remove it.

I've had one on my finger for about a year now! It really bothered me because it keeps growing, it eventually stopped now but it also itches a lot (and generally irritating!). Went to the doctor he diagnosed it as Dermatofibroma and said I should just leave it. I hate it to be vain but it's looks nasty on my finger , after reading some of these replies I'm eager to get it removed.

I just had a small one removed from my lower leg. It was itchy and looked like a reddish-pink wart. I decided I'd rather have a small, neat scar than the reddish-pink wart-looking thing forever. The dermatologist did the procedure in the office and put two stitches in. I get them out in two weeks and will let everyone know how it looks.

I'm blessed with good insurance so I had the option. If you can't afford to get it cut out by a doctor, I think I have seen some home remedies for treatment on the internet. The doctor also said she would give me a cream for the itching so I know you can get help with that. Good luck with whichever you feel comfortable with.

Hey guys, I've read sooo many blogs and came across apple cider vinegar. You can soak it and it'll burn it out. However I now have a horrible scar which is darker, however I'll take it because I no longer cut it shaving, it was below my knee. Took a few weeks of "soaking" and a while to heal...

My daughter had what the dermatologist thought was a pilomatricoma. We had it removed and a biopsy renamed it a dermatofibroma and found spindle cells in it. That means they have to go back in and remove more tissue since it can rapidly reproduce again. My thoughts are if you don't have it removed and biopsy it you'll never know whether it's cancerous or multiplying rapidly. I'd prefer a small scar over this any day. I recommend a plastic surgeon do the job.

Got mine removed by freezing it about a month ago. Already started growing back. Not happy.

I just found out today that the bump on my leg is DF...the dermatologist used liquid nitrogen to freeze most of it off although there is still a slight bump, may need to go back a second time. It took about 10 seconds to freeze it and wasn't painful.

My daughter had one removed from inside her thigh 3 weeks ago. She is still healing. Scar is bigger than what we thought and her leg dips in now, hoping after time this will improve.

Hi PP, OP here. That sounds great. I just had a dermatologist remove mine, so we'll see what happens ... a flat scar (ideally, eventually a white line instead of pink/red) would be nice, too ...

The dermatologist pa cut mine off last week. So far it looks like I will have a really flat possible scar. Wish I could take a pic and leave it on here. Read an article that says in actuality only 25% grow back. I'm hoping for good odds. I have had this for about 10 years now and I'm glad it will possibly be gone.
