As a person who does her own bathroom cleaning, I will say that is incredibly difficult to clean the shower without actually being IN it. it is so much easier to just spray down the shower and wipe it down with a sponge/rinse it off if you are in the shower.

We have a stand up shower, so not sure if it's different. But, I don't think I could clean my shower if I was fully dressed. I'd be soaked!

I'm pretty sure it's illegal for you to film them without their knowledge. I'm an attorney so I'm not talking out of my ass completely, although I admit I'm not entirely familiar with how this would work in the domestic employee setting. In any case, I still think it's kind of fucked up. The shower thing is weird, yes, but I think filming them is worse.

And to 20:19 - My friends have three women care for their sick and elderly parents on a rotating basis. If it weren't for the camera, they would have never caught one of the women stealing supplies.

I don't think it's a huge deal since the towels are being washed and the shower is clean, however, good luck finding another good housekeeper.
We have been through many, and I let a great one go and now I am stuck with one that is just so so. I would hire my old one back and let her shower here if she wanted, she was that good...

I agree. I don't think it's acceptable. It's like the mechanic taking your car out for a joy ride and burning up your gas. Your dog walker cooking up a meal but washing the pots & pans. They are hired to clean the house, it doesn't mean they can use the shower & OP's personal soaps, shampoos, lotions, etc. Those are personal items. It's still weird and inappropriate.

Would you guys who think this is okay also think it is okay if these ladies decided to take a nap in OP's bed?

I also agree that this is not acceptable. You are paying for cleaning and nothing else. Case closed. There is a huge trust factor when you give someone a key and let them have access to very personal things like medicine cabinets, opened mail, financial records, jewelry, sexual equipment, etc. all while you are not around. If they feel pretty comfortable with your bathroom and are not concerned with propriety, then what else is going on. I would fire them, but probably not have the guts to tell them why. I just would move on, but keep the camera's rolling for the next crew.

It's weird, but what's the harm? It's apparently of some benefit to them, and it costs you nothing, so why not let them have it?
