Or just hire a private chef / small catering. My dh offer that service

Ritz Carlton has offered holiday catering in the past. Haven't confirmed they still do though...

Wegman's sides are gross.

As long as you can send someone else to wait in line for you and carry everything Balducci's, WF or Wegmans is okay but GET THERE EARLY and ON TIME for your scheduled pick-up, the Balducci's line was the ninth circle of hell. If $$$ is no object then yes by all means call oneof the catering companies.
My favorite is Balducci's so far, aside from the wait. I've used all three stores before.

I wanted to bump this up to see if anyone has other suggestions or if anyone used on of these places last year and had a good/bad experience. I do like to cook, but I will be heavily pregnant this year at Thanksgiving and think it might be easier to order most of the meal. I have at least 10 and maybe as many as 15 people coming. Budget, within reason, is not my main concern. I am on Capitol Hill, but anywhere in the area would be fine. TIA.

I second the Wegmans recommendation. You can get the basic Thanksgiving dinner or you can get various sides instead. They really do a fabulous job. (We used your approach for Thanksgiving dinner for 15 people a few years ago and opted for Wegmans.)

Bittersweet in Alexandria is also fantastic. Great food and great people to work with.

Ridgewells. Interesting sides, excellent food. Have used them.

Whole Foods isn't that great.

You don't mention budget, but if money is no object, I'd go to a catering company.

River Falls in Potomac does menus for all of the holidays. Very expensive but their food is excellent.

A friend uses Blacksalt, a high-end restaurant in DC, for her Thanksgiving catering. I imagine it is a expensive way to go, but I bet it is absolutely delicious.
