No, but Jeff will lock it if you make comments he perceives as racist.

This thread is an antique. Can we lock it to avoid spreading old information?

Probably because they have the best test scores without being test-focused school.

Come on, posters don't hate YY. But there's an element of the ridiculous about their brand of immersion that gets pointed out. To sum it up:

School leadership (admins and parents) doesn't speak Chinese, year after year.
Chinese works to keep out the poors, but doesn't work to attract Chinese-speaking students.
Every kid gets good grades for speaking, but few speak well unless parents pay to supplement extensively. Nobody minds.
The next step, DCI, attracts no Chinese-speaking students.

How is 17:19 any different than 13:17 (except that the former is the hated YY, of course)?

Why do people hate Yu Ying?

Hebrew at Sela. Check My School DC's school finder - there is a filter for immersion that will show you all the public schools that offer it.

I'd wager close to zero from either DCPCS or DCPS within the next five years, at least if it's a serious immersion program attracting native speakers.

Try googling it, really. It pops up immediately. No need to be so lazy and expect others to do it for you.

Poster 17:19 here--I didn't respond to the comment, but thanks. I am not an admin person, just a happy PK parent. IT, Stokes, MV parents are happy as well..now what??? I guess it's just a matter of time for MV and IT parents to receive the same DCUM hatred.

Latin's taught at Washington Latin. Not immersion though. Some schools also teach Arabic-- again though, not immersion.
