Do you have an infant there? What do you think?

What is the timeline for NSF moving? Is the center planning to continue operating when NSF moves out? If so, do they anticipate a lot of people taking their children out of the center? I imagine this is a HUGE motivation for NSF to stay in that building, but am kind of optimistic for people like me if they are moving.

NSF's contribution to the Center is the (retail?) value of the space, so once they do move and IF the Center stays in place, the monthly cost would likely increase significantly.

Thanks for posting this! What in the world is going on over there?!? It appears that CCLC has problems in multiple locations (ref: the issues at FDA WOW) just like Bright Horizons.

On a side note, what happens to this center once NSF vacates the building?

Hardly -- former NSF CDC parent who has friends that have kids there.

You would think they would be hyper-vigilant, but that does not appear to be the case. This is from the Feb 2, 2012 inspection by the VA dept of social services:

Standard #: 22VAC15-30-430-A
Description: Staff failed to provide care, protection and guidance to children in care. Findings: Based on multiple staff interviews, the preponderance of evidence supports that Staff A failed to properly supervise children in her care while on the playground on January 12, 2012. Staff A was observed reading a book on the playground while sitting inside a play structure.

Standard #: 22VAC15-30-440-E-4
Description: Based upon multiple staff interviews is was determined that the 1:10 ratio was not maintained in the Preschool 2 room on at least two occasions. Findings: *Based on multiple staff interviews it was confirmed that Staff A has stepped out of the Preschool II room leaving the room out of ratio at 1:19 on January 11, 2012. Another staff member, from an adjoining room, was asked to step into the room to put it back into ratio. *Based upon multiple staff interviews it was determined that on January 13, 2012 Staff A left the Preschool 2 classroom out of ratio when she exited the room. Another staff member was asked to step into the room to maintain ratios; however, that staff was unavailable because it would leave her room out of ratio.

Standard #: 22VAC15-30-451-A
Description: Activities were not age and stage appropriate. Findings: Based upon multiple staff interviews, children in the Preschool 1 and 2 classrooms were made to wait for approximately 15-20 minutes for all lunch food components to be delivered to their rooms. The children were made to wait at the tables with salad, bread and milk on their plates without eating, while the "Turkey-roni" was delivered. No reason was given for the delay.

Standard #: 22VAC15-51-40-C-2
Description: Staff do not have completed background searches on file, past 30 days of employment. Findings: *8 of 26 staff files reviewed did not contain documentation of a completed Child Protective Services Search on file, past 30 days of employment. All staff have the same Date of Hire (DOH), 12/10/11, and none have results on file. (Staff #1-7, 22). *2 of 26 staff files reviewed did not contain documentation of a completed Criminal Record Check (CRC) search on file, past 30 days of employment. Both staff have the same DOH, 12/10/11.

She said they were still in the proccess of going through the waiting list to see how long it was and who was still interested so she couldn't say exactly how long it was (I'm looking for 10-12 months out so didn't need to know right away), but she gave me a link to to register online to get on the waiting list. Once you do that they approve you and you pay a $150 fee to be on the waiting list. I was impressed with the director and the facilities (other than the outdoor play space). She didn't have her business cards printed yet and I still don't have a phone number for them. I recommend dropping by and asking for a tour.

Thank you for posting this. I'm guessing that the center is hyper-vigilant given what happened with the previous company.

Does anyone know how to secure a spot or get on the wait list with the new provider - CCLC? Do you have any insight into how long the wait list is? Thank you.

Parents - any feedback on the new provider?

I am hoping for a smooth transition and high quality care from the new provider. It has been a rough number of months dealing with the drama.

CCLC is a GREAT company and you all will be very pleased. My children attend the CCLC in DC.
