I'm definitely in the minority, but that would be fine with me. My DD 12 watched an episode or two but seems to have lost interest.

I watch it for myself. I like the silly escapism.

I would not let a 12 year old DD watch it. It is a show about teenagers but not for teenagers - not the young ones, above 15 maybe.

None of the characters act in ways that would be appropriate.

I'm amazed how many parents post on here to ask "should my kid watch this/listen to this/do this" when the parents already feel it's against their values or it's just time-wasting junk. Why ask? Give your kid an answer and move on. If you over-talk it with her and agonize over it in front of her it's a waste of energy and time, and she knows that the "my friends all watch it" argument can get to you.

In fairness to OP, I think sometimes as a parent, you really don't know. Maybe the show seems a bit much to you, but you're afraid you're overreacting so you bounce it off friends or DCUM.

I have sons, so PLL is less a draw. I know lots of my freshman son's gal pals were big fans of it in middle school. I think there is a lot of ape-ing of the show in terms of how girls talk to each other and some of the aggressiveness/fights betweem them/ I don't remember girls calling each other bitches or bitching each other out in the cafeteria when I was in school -- seems a lot more in your face aggressive like the kids are on many teen shows today.
