Maybe you were "exposed to all of that" at 12 but many kids aren't. Should we parents let them watch this show as an educational thing, so they know all about what their sheltered little selves are missing?
OP, just say no. Why even bother to ask here for opinions of the show? If you don't want her watching it, then don't let her.
I'm amazed how many parents post on here to ask "should my kid watch this/listen to this/do this" when the parents already feel it's against their values or it's just time-wasting junk. Why ask? Give your kid an answer and move on. If you over-talk it with her and agonize over it in front of her it's a waste of energy and time, and she knows that the "my friends all watch it" argument can get to you.
