I just found this discussion thread and I feel compelled to share my experience. We have been at Little Feet for about 9 years. My two eldest daughters graduated already, but I still have my youngest daughter at the center. We have always been very happy with the care our daughters received at Little Feet. The teachers really love the kids. Most teachers have been around for years, which means very low turn-over, which is very important for us. Ms Faila, Ms Campbell, Ms Elvia, Ms Glossine, Ms Reka, Ms Sandra, Ms Mariama, and Ms Nette have all been wonderful with our kids. A few other great teachers left for other work opportunities. The girls always had a smile on their face when we brought them at Little Feet (this is in my opinion the best and most accurate sign), and it happened that they did not want to leave in the evening.
I really don't think that kids have ever been shuttled around. You can see twice a day Ms Elvia bringing the 2 year olds to the playground, which could what some parents witnessed as "kids going through the side gate".
At some point, the pre-k teacher took the kids to the Elementary School accross the street to pickup the school aged kids who attend Little Feet's after-care program. I have expressed my disatisfaction to the director and the after-care kids now have a dedicated teacher during the school year.
Also kids who transition to the next room, spend half of their day in their normal and half of their day in the next room. that could maybe explain the absence of a child.
Going back to the secret location, the official name of this room is "Winnie the Pooh". It is located in a house around the corner (1 minute walk), where the director's office is also located. They opened this room a few years ago, initially as a "home care" setting - some parents who had their kids in that room at the time, told me they loved the setting - then they started using it for the 2 years old kids. Only my youngest daughter went there. I found the room well equiped. And the main teacher is wonderful.
I brought a few areas of concern during all those years (eg. need to use apron when painting to protect the kid's clothes, music too loud...) and the director addressed most of my concerns. Though I must admit she is not the most responsive/communicative person, and some other parents left the center for that reason. But as I said, the director eventually addressed my concerns.
By the way, I made sure to make a few surprise visits (typically when I had to pick up the kids early for a doctor appointment) and never witnessed anything abnormal.
Hope this helps parents who consider using Little Feet.
