Can you invest in individual stocks through TSP? (Not a Fed, so not sure).

If so, maybe that $4M guy made some good picks. Hard to imagine how she/he got there on mutual funds.

I always maxed out, never got used to the full paycheck. It's easier imo if you start that way.

28yo again...how long did it take for you all to start maxxing out? I tried it for one PP last year and it was 25% of my salary! I'm a GS-11. I currently do 12% which is about all I can do with daycare bills.

44 and $117k in TSP. But I've just returned after a stint in private, and started out in private. My retirement savings accounts altogether have $230k. Not nearly enough, but could be worse I guess.

56+, 24+ yrs of federal service, $605k.

I've maxed out contribs since day 1 plus catch-ups.

For the past several yrs have used tsppilot.com as a guide/advisor on allocations and they saved me from six figure losses in '07-'09. I have no affiliation but find the advice very useful.
