Throwing up (not biting up) darn auto correct! ; )

Why replying to the thread years later?....because it's here! In my case, I just searched these symptoms and your page came up. My 7 year old went to bed and just about a half hour later he was biting up. Temp 102. Head ache, vomited x 1. Gave him ibuprophen and he's asleep with cold cloth and light blankies.

Wow. Both my kids have had mild fevers and vomiting. I never considered strep. Just thought it was a bug. Called ped and they weren't concerned either. They said only after 3 days to bring in...

My 6 year old had strep two weeks ago, and had a terrible headache the first night, with a high fever, etc. We took him to the ped the next day and he had a positive strep test. Ped said headaches can be common in strep. As well as a rash (which DS had also).

Call the ped's nurse's line and they'll give you good advice. I'm not usually a fan or urgent care.

Vomiting can be a symptom, but is not a common symptom. Children are more likely to vomit with strep than adults. Vomiting is not a sign of strep, I'd be more concerned about the flu or stomach virus.

Sore throat would be the main symptom, along with chills, aches and a fever. You should be able to see white puss pockets.

In our house, strep is always accompanied with vomiting. And we had it this past weekend. It seems to be going around.

My 7 yr old son just had his, we waited it out and he didn't get better so took him in day 3 and it was strep. He had no sore throat, was eating crusty bread and it just never dawned on me it was strep. I feel like an idiot and won't do it again. Take him in.....

Could be the flu. My 5 month old, 2 year old, and husband had the flu in the last week and it involved similar symptoms. We brought them to the pediatrician and he prescribed Tamiflu (plus rest and tylenol for fever).

For this alone, no. Call the ped if you are concerned and ask if you should bring her in.
