I love the show, too. My husband finds Christina pathetic which I can see...but I also really feel for her trying to keep her family together and working.

Last night, we talked about the whole sex talk...she told Haddie "I really want to talk to you about it..." But when Haddie told her the truth, it totally caught her off-guard. You could tell she was in denial the whole time and because of it, she missed opportunities with Haddie to let her open up. Instead of the "are you using protection," it could've been such a better conversation.

Great show. But the only thing that bothers me is the "talking over each other" technique they use to make it seem more realistic. totally annoying.

agree with this, hate that.

I thought, with the cause of Julia's infertility, there may be a surrogacy storyline coming up (and either Christina or Sarah as the surrogate). I can't decide if it would be so moving or soap operaesque.

RE: pregnancy....It could be a happy ending for Julia...with Christina giving her moral support. I hope so....I really feel for Julia.

I love the show too. But do you really think it would be a plot twist if Christina were the one that is pregnant? I think that would be such an obvious, forced, TV plot line it would annoy me enough to perhaps stop watching. It would be another real sign to me that the show may be slipping.

Every week I basically have the same conversation with MY son. He yells and then I'm shocked and paralyzed and then we go on and my cool mother does nothing but look cool all the time. My life is the same.

Agree that the quality is slipping, but LOL what you said about the female characters because sadly that's what is more realistic about the show to me than anything else--life can be vey mundane for long stretches and I have a lot of whiners and drama queens in my family. Doesn't always make for good TV, though. The Stephen Baldwin thread was awesome. Also like the hot for teacher guy from "The Event". I love when good shows cross pollinate lke that. Although I think "The Event" started off strong and is now headed quickly into an "X-Files"/"Lost clusterf*ck. Too bad.

I adore this show. I really hope it doesn't get cancelled. It is depressing sometimes, but I think they balance it with enough humor to keep it from going overboard. And while I usually find Lauren Grahm to be my least favorite, I thought she was absolutely amazing last night. Everything from the restaurant scene with Amber til the end just had me floored.

I just don't get it. But then I don't get a lot of things. I believe people must watch these reality shows with their children. Because it is family viewing in a sort of Jackie Gleason Show kind of way. When your kids atre 9 or 10, a little "America's Got Talent" isn't so terrible. There are just so much crap out there with cable (some it very good, most bad) that I think good network shows must really struggle to find an audience. That said "Parenthood" is just the "Thirty Something" of the 2010's and not nearly as cutting edge or well written, frankly. But I like it.

Yes. I think they are handling the interacial dating thing with aplomb. No other show has done this quite as well. Of course they do have to make the AA guy be from a homless family and be an ex-alcoholic just to divert from a potential knee jerk racial reaction--they have made the actual issues so realistic and gut wrenching. Omg the scene when they are in the car listening to Haddie having sex. I would just loose it. It will really suck if she gets pregges because then we'll have to visit the whole will she keep it or not thing and they will keep it and then the show will make me vomit because no way does my 15 year old keep a baby from anyone let alone the the alchie homeless guys'.

I was DYING during that scene. It may have been the most uncomfortable TV moment of my life.

I enjoy the show, I wish they would actually go down the IVF route with Christina. It seems to have so much to it and not just more fluff TV.
