No, not for public. I mean there is the immersion program at Hanson, but that doesn't give you an extra option, only Hanson or Goddard is available based on your address. They were doing some sort of partial immersion at Paint Branch I think for Chinese, but there was no way to get in to that unless you were in boundaries.

I think Maryland International Day School offers Spanish Immersion, but I think it is also only partial immersion.

French Immersion starts at kindergarten. Montessori starts pre-K.

Doesn't Robert Goaddard start with preschool? Many of my friends applied when the children were 3 (and still didn't get in), so if those children are still enrolled, there would be very few spots for Kindergarten.

I have to say that we are pretty excited to be going to Glenarden Woods. Especially since both kids got in. Some of my friends only had one child excepted.

I have to say that we are lucky our neighborhood school is really good so I didn't have to worry about not getting in. It's nice to have a safety net if the TAG school winds up being a bad fit for the kids.



Oh, that's great! I think Glenarden Woods is going to have a GREAT TAG program now that they have expanded to be a whole TAG school. Just wish my kids could go there!

Same here. No letter - nada. Was going for PS3 at John Hansen. Moving to DC.


You'll have worse luck in DC. Current PS3 parent in NW and DD was wait listed in the 200s on average. Record year for PS and it'll only get worse.

I haven't heard back either. Acceptance letters have been sent out, waitlist letters will be sent starting this week.

Although I agree the lottery is run poorly (ie, not placing notifications online)...everyone I know that applied last year received a letter. My sister got a spot, but had to turn it down. For updates check http://www1.pgcps.org/lottery/index.aspx?id=127716

Thanks so much for the info! I am putting a deposit down with the private school today to be safe. There's no way I can count on them having a seat if we find out in June or later that neither Goddard program panned out for us.
