They are under its auspices, but serve very different types of students, with Ivymount accommodating many more in depth and severe needs. In my experience, it's difficult to pin point who Maddux will and will not serve. Basically kids who don't need a lot of intervention, but just enough 'tweaking' to prepare for mainstream elementary education. I think McLean is the ideal comparison to Maddux, in that they will offer some supports, but not extreme. And for both schools, for some reason they publicly shy away from reaching out to ASD kids--and kids who require a great deal of OT or PT support.
Mclean school is not the ideal comparison to Mclean. Maddux teachers are much better trained in special education. The program has much more supports in place for behavorial learning.
