good points all. Friend sent this to me - we live near Winchester and make the trek to Spa World about 5 x year. I can take my 9 and 11 year old daughters into the bade area and relax and the hub has his time. We visited Cypress Cove, a naturist / aanr resort two year ago when at Disney and were directed to another nice place, Lake Como in Pasco/Tampa , and from there have become aquainted with some aanr.com clubs in Va Beach and a travel club/spa group thats based in Linthicum MD but operates in Anne Arundel County near Mills. At no time at any of these facilities are the kids or anyone else forced to "strip naked" . We saw barefoot people dining at Spa World in street clothes and at their bade popool and MARNA's in Linthicum, the kids could get dressed and meander aroiund as they wished, just that swimming at spa world and White Tail in Va vbeach is nude only and MARNA , in MD (Md naturiosts) urges you to choose for yourself, but almost all taje that option. No a parent
telling a kid they have to disrobe, thats downright Sanduskyish!

It is admittedly not as relaxing as going without, and I wouldn't do it alone. But, the kids' area of the pool is fun for them, and there is a kids room and lots of space to play games and hang out. Given that you really only go into the pool and the other rooms for a short period at a time, there is actually a lot of time that can be traded off between parents and still a lot where the whole family is hanging out together without the everpresent chores and distractions of home.

Then don't do it. I will though because we like it, and neither I nor my child feel uncomfortable there.

I love the spa idea but the idea of taking my kids, stripping them naked, while being completely naked myself weirds me out a bit. I've been to these type of places in Europe, so i'm not uncomfortable with lots of naked women, young and old, but doing that here with little kids makes me oddly uncomfortable.

nice place indeed but if you travel 40 miles with kids of both genders and youre the only adult youre up the creek! that happened to us, and its ok because it was a learning experience , love those Koreans for adhering to single sex bathing.

Look at the AANR.com site and contact MD and VA clubs (none in DC sadly) who are naturist but ask in advance if the pools are nude only (which can be a bit traumatic for newbies ) or swimsuit optional where you can dress or not to swim and shower. Theres at least four that are a 40 minute to 4 hour drive through MD and VA, and we found one that actually has rail access

You should be naked but only with others of the same sex. Before entering the common areas or rooms, you get a loose-fitting outfit (usually orange) to put on. A good spa cleans the towels and clothes very well, so don't worry about that.

Being nude is rather a non-option here. You're supposed to place your clothes and items in a locker, strip down and shower your body before entering the pools. And, the pools are for health-- you'll see ladies relaxing in there-- so your kid might not get to splash around as much as they like.

I used to go to the sauna spa all the time in Korea, and it is great! Tons of kids there, though again not as many in the "pools room." Mostly in the common area playing with other kids or the sauna rooms. It is a great place for kids here to explore because it looks so unlike anything you've seen before.

In the pool room, everyone is nude, except the employees, who are wearing a bra and underwear. You are not allowed to wear any clothes at all. These areas are single sex. In the cord section, everyone is clothed, wearing orange jumpsuits.
