1st pregnancy 10 months, 2nd pregnancy 1 month.

OP here -- wow I'm getting nervous. I am charting, and I wouldn't say I'm stressed per se, but I am very tired b/c my little guy is a very early riser and I do a lot of hte parenting b/c my husband works a lot. We have been sure though to hit the timing right with CM and OPKs.

My OB has offered me some testing once I hit the 6 month mark so maybe I should get that done.

30. Was literally the first try. I was a little shocked, and I had been looking forward to sushi and sake when I got my period, because I thought there was no way it could happen after one try (after our first try I got a nasty cold, so we didn't try again for the rest of my cycle).

Less than 35, have to try for a year before most RE's will consider treating you, this is of course if you have regular cycles. Greater than 35 it's 6 months of trying. That said for me personally:

18: One birth control, never missed one.
28: Missed one pill (MC)
29: 4 months
31: 4-5 months, was still breastfeeding so hard to say. It was about that long after cycles resumed.

31 - 5 months but I think we had bad timing for two of those months.

I highly recommend charting your temp (although the month I gave up on temping was the month I got pregnant)

Something that worked for me - I would produce EWCM but not a ton - I took the advice to drink 1 cup of pure pomegranate juice every day the week leading up to ovulation - I was practically gushing EWCM and that is when I got pregnant.

PLENTY of women don't conceive in the first two months and do not have fertility issues. Good grief!

I'm 31 and it took me 4 months for the 1st (at 28) and 7 months for the 2nd. And most of my pregnant friends tried for several successive months as well. I would guess that the average among us was about 5 or 6 months. Can only think of one who got pregnant on the first try.

I know - my group seems to be unusually skewed to either extreme!

Age 33 - month 7 - nothing so far - Sperm Analysis was great - starting the HSG and blood work now

#1: Just before turning 28, tried for 7 months, m/c
#2: Started trying again four months after m/c mentioned above, got pregnant right away.

29 - Still ttc #1 (have been trying 3 months)

I was all about the age difference and so we thought since it took 3 months with #1 to start trying for #2 expecting it to take 3 months....or just a few nights after being apart from one another a few days. Now, I get the "oh, they'll be close in age" which I find crazy. Since when was 2 years close together? Obviously not an oops child!

My point, careful what you wish for!

37 - hour and 15 minutes

OP - the average couple takes 6 months to conceive and has about a 20 - 25% chance each month of getting pregnant if both partners are healthy. Having seen these types of threads before on this and the TTC forum, I find that a lot of the responders tend to be women who conceived almost immediately. While that's terrific for them, it's not the norm. Try and keep it in perspective.

Additionally, you might consider charting your temperature if you're not already. Not only will charting help you pin point your date of ovulation, it can also give you a better picture of your entire cycle, including whether you're actually ovulating and the length of your luteal phase. With charting I conceived my first at 32 after 6 months and my second at 35 after 5 months. OPKs are very easy to use, but they don't tell you if you're actually ovulating and they don't tell you if you're getting the progesterone surge post ovulation that's essential to a health luteal phase.
