Sorry....I wasn't paying attention and was talking about wisdom teach extractions. Move along people....nothing to see here!

Tony Hsu in Rockville/North Bethesda. I might as well have had a cavity filled. Took a little motrin/tylenol, but really didn't feel any thing afterwards.

I just had one last week at Robert J. Kelly & Associates in Kensington, very smooth and better than the crown! Endodontist is Dr. Vandenburg and they take insurance.

Mine was less than an hour! It was not bad at all, I even went shopping that afternoon since I had the day off from work!

I am freaking about how long a root canal will take. Is it true that some of your procedures were less then an hour? Let me know. I think I can do this if it only takes this long.

Thanks,

Dr. Gamson in Bethesda. He is AMAZING! I am a chicken when it comes to dental stuff. But, he really puts you at ease. He is so kind and gentle. He promised it wouldn't hurt and it didn't. I LOVE him.

He gets great reviews online as well: http://www.yelp.com/biz/edward-k-gamson-dds-ms-bethesda

Anonymous wrote:PP here - seriously, who knew I had such passion about endodontics, but your post made me think back to how freaked out I was before my first root canal - now I literally pop into the chair and chat with Dr Melrod - just so you know, definitely see an endodontist- my longest root canal ever was 45 minutes- the average dentist who does a root canal is anywhere from 2- 4 hours because they don't have the high tech drill (they "hand" file the roots). Dr Melrod will tell you exactly how many minutes the entire procedure will take, he'll give you breaks, and his dental assistants are really nice too. If it's a front tooth, it might only take 15 minutes or so . . .

does it really only take 45 minutes? that's better then a crown.

Root canals - never understand how they get such a bad name. Mine have always been smooth and not very painful.

Honest, caring and made the procedure as painless as possible.

Also a Dr. Melrod fan. Pretty painless and he's very calm and assuring.

Carolina Rodriguez-Rad, downtown DC; 202-659-8568

Listed in top endodontists in Washingtonian Magazine. She did a great job for me.

BTW, OP, have you had a root canal before? They've changed a great deal and are really no big deal anymore.

Good luck. Hope you find someone you like!
