It figures out the correct Chinese lunar age for you. But of course the prediction is not 100% correct. It's just for fun but you might as well do it right if you're using the chart.

I just did this one and it was wrong both times for me--well, definitely wrong for my son and either wrong for my current pregnancy or the very experienced, very positive songrapher was wrong at my 20 week ultrasound!

All my predictors said boy (Chinese Chart, Red Cabbage Water, Baking Soda, Wedding Ring, and symptoms) - We're having a girl.

To use the Chinese Birth Chart, it is very essential to convert the western age and month into the lunar age and month.

Oh my holy shit, it's right!

Guess I should listen to my Asian "goes-to-fortune-tellers-like-it's-going-out-of-style" mother in law!

Must be use lunar mother age and lunar month in order to get accurate results. Western to Lunar conversion can be found at the
western lunar age converster. Good luck! 8)

Wrong for me (according to U/S, at least! not born yet)

Wrong for #1. The calendar, in fact both calendars posted here, say I should have had a girl; I had a boy. Don't know yet if it's right for #2.

I'm confused how this works with the PP saying to do your age based on the lunar calendar and +1 for the in-utero year, but regardless this link predicted wrong for my DS and also for my current pregnancy.

It was wrong for me. My guess is it'll be correct for about 50% of people.

That can mess you up -- I was 35 when I conceived the child I'm carrying now but the Chinese lunar calendar calls me 36. So if you don't use the lunar calendar, my child comes up a girl, if you do, it comes up a boy. (We don't know the gender yet).

It was right for my first child, though - a son.

For the chart to work you *have to* figure out your age based on the lunar calendar. Also, Chinese people count the age since you're in the womb, so you're already one year old when you are born. It is accurate for me and my sister-in-law's two kids.

Just used the calendar above . . . 34 when the baby was conceived in June 2010 says girl but I have had 3 sonograms all confirming it's a boy!! (20 weeks, 28 weeks, and 30 weeks)
