We just got back from Disney (3 people). Booked through the Disney website. For $2600, we got four nights at Animal Kingdom Lodge, five day park passes, JetBlue airfare and four-day dining plan (regular). They were having a promotion with the free dining plan.

Stay off site! Bonnet creek is awesome, search on dis oars forums for how to book, gorgeous 2 bedroom condos basically on Disney property for 150/night or less

We stayed at the Ft. Wilderness cabins when we went with 3 kids and my sister. It was super fun - and my kids thought the Murphy bed was the coolest thing ever.

Def. do the golf cart rental - it makes getting around the campground much easier.

We are in process of booking through allear.net -- we have myself and my husband and two kids -- 5 1/2 and 2 1/2 . AND we are flying my brother in from California to stay with us. we opted in the Fort Wilderness Cabins -- mom and dad in the bedroom bed with kids in the bunkbeds in the room and uncle on the murphy bed. liked the idea of having the outdoor space -- the deck and table -- for "spillage' instead of being cramped inside or running up and down hallways. you can rent a golf cart to zoom around that resort in, there is a campfire sing a long at night, and you can take a boat somewhere. anyway. last week of april trip for 4 nights and i think without airfare it's costing us $2500 including 5 days of park hopper (three adults and 1 kid -- under 3 is free).

we are sooooo excited!

Look into the Bay Lake Tower. You can get a 1BR suite, which has 2 full baths and a sleeper sofa as well as a sleeper chair in the living room, full kitchen, etc. for far less than a suite in any other Disney property. On the monorail, walk to MK, etc. I did 5 days, 4 nights, meal plan, $5000 including airfare.

We go to Disney every year. We love how close and kid friendly it is. That being said, we never stay on site. It's just not worth it to us. We stay in a three bedroom suite within 1 mile to the park entrance. We also like the convenience of driving. No waiting for crowded buses, etc. This year we stayed at Lake Buena Vista Resort Village, Last year we stayed at WorldQuest resort, and Spring Break 2011 we are staying at Wyndham Bonnet Creek (which is on Disney property.) All these have shuttles to the park if that is what you want to do. And all are under $175 per night, with three bedrooms, three baths, amazing pools, and continental breakfast. To us, it's the best of both worlds. We get to do the parks whenever, but come back to peace and quiet after within a 5 minute drive. We even leave a day or two to relax around the resort, especially if the the weather is nice. We also get discounted park tickets through AAA or Costco. We never spend more than $3000 for the six of us for a week with plenty of space.
