I am not 15:41, but I know 2 Theos under the age of 5.

OP are you having a boy or a girl? Only girls seem to hate having popular names. Seriously, boys don't care if they're one of 4 William's in a classroom.

We are considering Theodore, nn Theo and I hadn't heard it was too popular. PP, how many Theos do you know? I had a popular name as well and trying to avoid if possible.

Finn, Liam, Aiden, Jack/Jackson, Max

Ava, Sophia, Isabella, Grace, Ella - have seen Malia several times lately too!

Please let's retire Ava and Sophia, especially.

Other names may pop up here and there, but they aren't as common or don't stand out as much as these names (all of which I like, but therein lies the issue ...)

We know a bunch of Isabelles and charlottes. Also Alexandra. Harrison seems oddly popular as well. DS (5) is friends with several Williams, but that's a name I almost expect to see a lot.

Lots of Theos popping up lately. I also hear many variations of Elle/Ella and Lil/Lilly.

Freakonomics says that names trickle down the socioeconomic ladder. The popular names for this year's McLean/ Bethesda ES-aged kids are going to be the popular names for this year's less-affluent newborns. Like how Ashley was an uppercrust name before it became middle class before it became a stripper name and acquired all its weird new spelling variations.

I just say go for it - nothing wrong with going with a popular name - my parents did and it didn't bother me.

Didn't bother you but OP said her name is popular and she didn't like it.

My son's name keeps making the top 10, but I have yet to meet another William in or around my neck of the woods.

I so love the name Cooper and wanted to name my son that. But, my husband wanted a more common name that has made the lists of most the PP.
