Second, with this student‘s GPA there is zero chance they are getting into William and Mary and it is highly unlikely they will get into Virginia Tech as well. They need to look at other schools in Virginia, but fortunately there are many good ones.

We are a VA family and each of our kids has seriously considered schools in CA, including UCs. And they each have several HS friends who went out to CA - Stanford, Cal, UCLA, USC, UCSB, etc.
